NUTRITION

During Match

Your body is like a car engine, it needs fuel to run. Before your
match starts you should have some fruit like bananas, raisins or
other dried fruit. Also bring some snacks like granola bars, trail
mix, or similar snack but not candy bars full of sugar. Make sure
you have plenty to drink during the match. Mostly water but also
some sports drink for a long match.

I find it  best to snack or eat something and drink throughout
the match. Don’t wait until your energy level fades, keep
fueling that engine small amounts the entire time.

If you find yourself in a long grueling match and your into the
third set you might need a little more energy in your fueling. A
few bites of a candy bar or few sips of a sugary drink like soda or
sports drink  might help you in the end.

Next will talk about nutrition after the match.
